snot sucker
Yeah, i know, it sounds gross. But that's what the new gadget that we bought does. One end of the gadget is placed on the baby's nostril while the other end has a tube that you suck like a straw to suction out the mucus. No worries though, it was made so that you dont end up eating boogers. Hahaha! There's a container that catches everything nasty.
We bought this because it is non invasive as compared to the bulb syringe. Also with this, you can clean the baby's nose in whatever position he's in. With the bulb syringe, the baby has to be lying down and his movements supressed to prevent poking his nose incorrectly. That's why hubby and i usually clean eidan's nose together. One does the cleaning while the other holds him down. Believe me, they dont like it.
With the new nasal aspirator, all you need is a good set of lungs and you're good to suck away anything in there! =)

this is the only time i can say "jane, you suck!" *lol*
i have that in my cart at amazon... you know me and my trust on anything japanese. hehe! but i saw this cheaper version: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/414YWvoTBnL._SL500_AA300_.jpg
lemme know how easy it is to use that pigeon one, momma!
We also saw that one kso you have to buy refills for the filter for about $4.50 per pack (20 filters).Yung pigeon doesn't need the filter so in the long run, we're hoping it's going to be cheaper =)
ah, di ko na finactor yung disposable filters eh. honga no. lemme know how it works ha. give us reviews para i'd know if i should get that one instead.
with my parents coming in, baka nga sabihan pa kong maarte kasi they usually just suck the stuff out without any tubes or gadgets, di ba? *lol*
hi jane, where did you buy that one? =) we use saline drops here and our public health nurse suggested na i-on namin un shower and she stays with us sa washroom.. parang sauna thing and it worked. pawisan nga lang kami after pero na-relief siya.
take care and God bless.
esenen
esenen! nice to see you here! hehehe! momma's forum na to. hehe!
you could probably get that at babies 'r us, amazon.com, diapers.com, or kahit sa pharmacies.
Esenen! Yup, we got ours sa amazon and so far sulit naman.. We use saline to soften the mucus tapos higop na! Hehehe =D tinuro din sa amin yung shower steam approach.. Pero mas matagal kasi yun and magastos sa tubig.. =D
@beng, it works well depending on the angle of insertion and the force of the vacuum ... parang mathematical formula a ... lol .... tsaka syempre, sa cooperation ni baby =) we found na mas madali sya gamitin kesa dun sa bulb syringe kse mas continous yung sucking action, you don't have to pull it out for every suck tsaka mas madaling linisin ... kailangan mo nga lang ng saline para masoften yung mucus kse otherwise makikipag tug of war ka sa stubborn mucus ... hehehe ...
thanks for the review oneal! since yung filter lang naman ata ang diff nung senyo at yung mas mura sa amazon, i think i will get the one you have. mukhang highly recommended naman eh. =)
i am hoping we won't have to use it, but i am preparing myself just the same. hehe!
