a month after..

yes, it's been a month since i last posted.. eidan got sick for quite some time right after his 1st birthday.. poor little peanut.. cough, cold, fever, teething, rashes.. everything that he can get, he got.. to add to that, i got sick too..

it was hard taking care of a LO when you're sick.. i bet all parents know that.. but you have to suck it in and deal with it.. at least you know what hurts when you're sick.. in the case of our LO, he's trying to tell you what he needs in the best way he knows.. i wish we could have consistently taught him sign language so he can at least tell us where it hurts instead of pulling his hair and crying his lungs out.. *hugs for eidan*

in terms of milestones, Eidan started walking (assisted) just yesterday! hooray!

i was rummaging through the sale items for halloween (he needs a costume), when hubby called me and showed me that our little peanut was eagerly taking steps.. i was so thrilled because he has not shown any interest for it since.. he would always try to crawl whenever we try to get him to take a few steps.. eidan, with daddy, went around the store to practice his new found skills =) and as if our LO knew he deserves a reward, he picked up a lollipop on the way back to mommy.. which we gladly bought of course =D

lots and lots of kisses

the week after Eidan's real birth date (coz we celebrated it a week earlier), he learned how to kiss on request.. my heart just melted when he kissed his dada and mama over and over.. by request or sometimes when he's just too happy.. =D whenever he does it we would smile and clap or say something nice for him to continue relating this behavior to something good =)

i wish he'd still give us kisses when he grows up and goes to school *sigh*

Grrrr..

Eidan's been sick for 2 weeks now.. He got sick right after his first birthday.. With that, of course, comes caring for him, sleep that's hard to come by with would result to fatigue.. Im not complaining.. It's just how things really are when you're little one's sick.. He needs a lot of TLC which we whole heartedly give..

I made the mistake of telling someone how my day was.. And what did i get in reply.. "well, you chose to be a mother" what the freak!!! No, "how's he doing, i hope he feels better", just an answer that blames me for how tired i was coz i chose tp be a mom!!!

I couldnt believe what i heard that i just smiled politely and left..

Note to self.. Never speak to that person ever about my family..

Eidan's One

Our little peanut turns one today! Yey! The journey was challenging but every bit of smile we got from our little peanut makes it all worth it.

We celebrated his birthday with a pool party last Saturday. We were blessed with a sunny day and almost everyone made it. We got a Hawaiian Luau theme for the food and a sandcastle cake to go with that =)

For the little something to send home to the guests, we have some personalized M&Ms with Eidan's pictures =D

first swimming lesson

Eidan had his first swimming lesson last Saturday morning. He got through the class without ever smiling. I guess he was not ready for the water. He didn't cry much though. He was mostly observing and hugging mommy. Whenever I would try to have him float on his tummy or on his back he would cry. He was not happy about being slightly away from me. I just keep reassuring him that I'm not going anywhere. I also try to make some funny faces. However, he was just not ready to let go of mommy in the pool.

After the class, hubby and I agreed that we would practice playing with the water in the tub with out little peanut to get him used to the water splashing on his face and getting his eyes. So far, so good. Eidan's even laying on his tummy on the tub. We'll see how it goes this coming Saturday.
