is it really? in the next month, eidan will be turning one!

just a month ago we were told that eidan's a bit delayed with some of his expected milestones such as sitting straight unassisted, crawling with tummy up, holding up his weight while standing (assisted), using the pincher when feeding himself and so on. now we can hardly contain him in one place! we had to place huge pillows around the perimeter of the family room to keep him safe plus this gives him more room to roll around. hubby would place 'obstacles' within the area to encourage him to pull himself up, climb and crawl =D

in the food department, eidan loves his solids! he eats table food now. we are still working on increasing his milk intake (very important) but we have no problems introducing him to new solids - meatballs, pasta (spaghetti and alfredo), cantaloupe, peas, applesauce, banana, graham crackers, pancakes, cheerios, fries, bread with creamcheese etc. he's even eating prepackage solids that are meant for toddlers. i guess having 8 teeth and possibly 2 molars on the way helps a lot with his love for solids.

since eidan has a lot of pearly whites, we need to take good care of them. especially since he's eating a lot of things other than milk. i would clean his teeth using a washcloth. i feel that it gets a lot cleaner than when we attempt to use the baby toothbrush. we would sing 'this is the way we brush our teeth, brush our teeth..' to establish a sign and the routine. it's has always been a two man job since he hates brushing.. until last night. i was able to brush his teeth without any protest and biting! yey! i was so proud that i cried.. hehe.. =p

eidan has really come a long way in a month's time - development spurt - if there's such a phrase.. =) granted that he's still catching up to his real age, our little peanut's showing us that he's getting there with a smile on his face and the energy that matches a toddler.
